What is Lacquer? Jewelry Lacquer is a long lasting sealant that protects finishes and patinas from the environment and wear. It can also be used to prevent tarnishing on certain metals. We use jewelry lacquer on many pieces with oxidation and custom finishes to protect them from wear and tarnishing.
Neither jewelry lacquer nor patinas are permanent. Just like any protective coating, jewelry lacquer will wear over time. Patinas and finishes without a protective sealant will wear out much sooner. Additionaly, we often use a proprietary jewelry wax that offers temporary wear protection.
We do provide services that can revitalize and refinish the patina and finish of your piece. There are factors to consider, so not all pieces can be refinished. Please contact us for to inquire about our renishing services.
What is Moissanite? Moissanites are gemstones similar to diamonds. They are almost always manmade and we exclusively use finest quality manmade Moissanite gemstones. Although we occasionally use diamonds in our designs, we prefer the luster and brilliance of Moissanites over diamonds.
What are Lab Gemstones? Lab created gemstones are manmade gemstones as opposed to mined gemstones. They are identical optically, physically and chemically to mined gemstones. They are often superior quality with less flaws and inclusions. We use both mined gemstones and lab gemstones depending on the design. When we use lab gemstones, we used the finest quality and we indicate it in our product descriptions.
How should I clean my jewelry? It is safest to clean your jewelry by using a slightly damp ultra soft cloth. Do not use abrasives and detergents, especially on pieces that have patinas or fine finishes.
